Stories from Near and Far

For me, writing is cathartic. Enjoyable. Challenging. And most importantly, it prompts me to think a layer deeper about my subject. It's easy to let a photograph speak for itself, but I've always loved the marriage of written word and photography. They can both live alone, but I believe it's a truly powerful combination when done correctly. The photographs transport the reader to faraway places and convey emotion, while the words offer color and context where the images may fall short. I hope you enjoy -- thanks for reading.
